Jill and I thought that it would be nice to do a little camping this year since Victoria was old enough now to really
enjoy it. We looked at all sorts of tents and were planning on getting one of those 3 room jobs when we heard about the Hamilton
RV show.
The first day of the show we had pretty much decided that we were not going to get a tent anymore and that
the Jayco 10X was just about the most perfect trailer I had ever seen.
The second day of the show I thought I am going
to sit at every dinette and lay on every bunk end (I would have used every porta potti if I thought that I could get away
with it). I opened and closed cupboards, pulled back the matresses and even crawled under the trailers to see how they were
made. In general I was a salesman's worst nightmare.
That's when I saw it. My baby. The Rockwood 2270. It came with
a fridge, Screen room, furnace Create-A-Breeze vent fan, a RVQ, and porta potti. All extras that Forrest River were giving
as thank you gifts. All of this for the price of the basic Jayco 10X.
It sleeps eight which means Grandparents (or
Aunts and Uncles if your out there) can come with us on weekends. It is light enough that I didn't need a new vehicle to tow
it and its even colour co-ordinated with the van (which was a big selling point for Jill).
As far as I was concerned I got the best buy at the show. An extremely well built trailer with all the bells and
whistles for the same price as one of the "brand name" models of half its size. To anyone looking into getting
a Rockwood let me be the first to stand behind it. Let me also suggest that if they work out the bugs with their (heated
matress' which I have) to purchase them. They will keep you warm on a cold night even if you don't have the furnace
running.
