The Sports News

We love to be active and this is where you can see what we are up to.

Victoria's News

Skating has begun again.  Vix is being coached again this year by Joan Sherman and is making great strides.  She is working on the Canasta and really wants to land her first axle.

Soccer season is over for another year but we had some really good coaching and a lot of fun this year.  They finished first over all and won the league championships.

This seasons record of 8-1-2.

April's News

Gymnastics has started.  April has shown she is as flexible as any and has proven that she has no fear on the beam and uneven bars.  Things are going well.

The soccer season has ended.  April's team may not have won many games but the kids had a really good time and really improved their soccer skills.

They finished 2-8 on the season.

Tom's News

This is Tom's first time playing any organized sport and is doing well.  This year we are just hoping that he learns how to be part of a team.

Tom started the season not participating and not enjoying himself.  Thankfully by the end of the season he was running around with the rest of the kids having a great time, which is all that we wanted.  His team was not good and there wasn't a lot of soccer skills taught but they still have fun.

His team finished 2-8

Mom and Dad

Jill and I both completed the Brantford Classic 5K the last weekend in April.

I was trying to finish in less than 30 minutes but my final time was 30:08.8.  I placed 293rd of 998 racers.  I am still happy with the time but really would have liked to break the 30 min mark.

Jill finished in about 36 mins.  She placed 479th.  Considering that she didn't run at all really before the race she did really well.

I have been training hard and finished my first 10K race 6 months ahead of schedule in a competitive 54:35:15.  I was happy with my time but I know that I could have been a little faster.  Next time I will push harder.
