Thomas arrived on Saturday January 25 at just before 2 in the morning. Jill's
water had broken early Friday morning and after waiting all day for something to start happening we met our mid wife
at the hospital and she felt that it would be safest for the little guy if she induced Jill just to get things
going.
Jill did amazing with the help of Sharin and Heather. She handled the
pain extremely well until just before the birth. She was going to get into the whirlpool tub that was available to her
to try to help with the pain and was about to go for a walk while it filled when she realized that the little guy was
on his way. She just made it back into the room and onto the bed before Thomas decided to show himself.
Thomas weighed in at only 6 pounds 5 ounces and was 19 inches long. We were shocked since
all the doctors and mid wives were convinced that he was going to be big. By the time we were ready to go home he had
lost a little and weighed 5 pounds 15 ounces but was healthy enough to go home.
Tucker started off small but he was strong and grew well. He gave us a scare after about
a week when he wouldn't wake up for 24 hours and then all was fine.
For years we couldn't figure out why he always had a swollen stomache and always seemed to be
uncomfortable until one doctor finally discovered he was allergic to Fructose (the sugar in all fruits and some vegitables).
This discovery came after years of seizures and other weird episodes that no one could explain. Now with a controlled
diet all is well.
